The John Payne Cabin

Shuttered Window

Payne Cabin

Built in 1861 in the Jones Creek area of Union County, the Civil-War Era log cabin was moved to the Union County Heritage Center property in 1995 and restored to its original floor plan. The hand-hewn log construction and shuttered windows (absent glass) indicate its age and rural origin. The Payne Cabin is now located on School Street behind the Butt Mock House.
