This newly restored house celebrates its 100th anniversary in 2006. The featured element is one of the original stone bases with a replacement round wood column gracing the expansive front porch of the house. The Grapell Butt Mock House is located at 99 School Street - one block south of the Old Courthouse fronting Cleveland Street. Now officially a part of the Union County Historical Society's Mountain Heritage Center, the house is often the setting for events and festivals. One of the most exciting is the Mountain Marketplace held every Labor Day Weekend.
