The Blairsville Chevron is an architectural treasure with it's glass block transom above the doorway and other interesting features. Opened in 1947 by Tom Candler, Jr. as a Standard Oil Service Station, the "Art Moderne" structure features a curved façade, glass blocks around the entrance, and upstairs residential space, which is unusual outside of urban areas. This building is considered by preservation professionals as an architectural gem in our downtown. The Blairsville Chevron is located at 58 Town Square. |
