It is an exciting time for the Downtown Development Authority of Blairsville. There is renewed activity on the square, buildings are getting facelifts, flowers have been planted, and benches are a welcome addition for shoppers and downtown visitors. Recently the DDA submitted a Transportation Enhancement Grant application to the Georgia Department of Transportation for a streetscape for the downtown square. If approved, this grant will enable us to improve pedestrian safety on the square by defining the walkways, crosswalks, parking and traffic lanes. (See larger example of conceptual drawing.)
