The
Butternut Creek
Festival is
held every July and features
some of the
finest arts
and crafts in
the southeast.
Visitors, artists,
and vendors
look forward
to the
event which
is held at Meeks
Park in Blairsville,
Georgia. The
two day festival
includes
arts, crafts,
demonstrations,
wonderful music,
and plenty of
good food.
This
is a great family
event with lots
to see. The
admission and
parking are
FREE. Don’t
worry about
July heat waves!
Butternut Creek
Festival is
located along
the banks of
Butternut Creek
under a
canopy of magnificent
old shade trees.
The
event is
a juried show
presented by
the High Country
Artisans, Inc. and is supported
by the Blairsville
Union County
Chamber of Commerce
and The Union
County Recreation
Department.
Approximately
65
artists and
craftsmen are
juried in from
throughout Georgia,
North Carolina,
and Tennessee.
Being a juried
show, visitors
are assured
that each item
is hand-crafted,
quality work.
In addition
to these exhibitors,
several artists
are on hand
to demonstrate
their mountain
crafts of woodturning,
soap making,
broom making,
broom weaving,
chair caning,
and pottery
turning.
The
Butternut
Creek Festival
is located at
Meeks Park in
the Union County
Recreation Complex on
the south side
of Highway 76/515
just 7/10 of
a mile west
of KFC in Blairsville.

signs and banners.
The
High Country
Artisans meet
at 6:30 p.m.
on the 3rd Monday
of every month at the United
Community Bank
Community Room
(except for
in July due
to the festival).
All artists
and art lovers
are invited
to attend the
HCA meetings.
