The Union County
Commissioner's
Office, several
Blairsville-Union
County Chamber
of Commerce
staff members,
the Mayor’s
Office, the
Downtown Development
Authority board
members, Home
Depot associates,
business owners,
husbands, wives,
kids, and other
Union County
residents recently
participated
in Blairsville’s
2nd Annual Great
American Clean-Up.
Everyone met
on Saturday
morning to help
spruce up the
town. Volunteers
worked for only
a couple of
hours but accomplished
a lot. Flowers
were planted,
garbage was
picked up, old
leaves were
hauled away,
and public benches
got a new coat
of varnish.
Locations all
around the square
were improved
with attractive
plants, new
mulch, and a
good watering.
Blairsville
received a much
appreciated
spring revitalization.
The
Great American
Clean-Up is
the nation's
largest community
improvement
program. Now
in its 24th
year, more than
30,000 events
are held
in more than
15,000 communities.
Many
hard working
groups, business
owners, and
individuals
help Blairsville
a great hometown.
